NYC Bus & Subway Maps offers something very simple, yet invaluable to both native and tourist alike. Complete offline access to the official MTA Subway and Bus Maps for all five boroughs of New York City. A return to it's original no-frills design, NYC Bus & Subway Maps is an app you can count on working when you need it most. When you first launch the app, you won't have any map's available, but all you have to do is click the "Download Maps Now" button and select as many or as few as you want and download them all at once. No more hoping you remembered to save that BX Bus map when you're already on the train!

The wait is over!! We have been hard at work here at Densebrain and we are so excited to release our newest update to NYCMate. Below are all the updates and new features we've added for version 4.0:

NYCMate includes the crowd sourcing system NextTrain, which provides realtime train arrival information on all NYC subway lines. NextTrain is an innovative technical product and proud to be a NYC homegrown technical solution. NextTrain uses anonymous and passive reporting, so their is nothing for you the user to do. Just enjoy finally knowing when the train will arrive. But only if enough people enable NextTrain, so visit the information button in the app and enable today.

Subway and bus map of New York City (NYC) with bus, railroad and ferry connections. Now it features the late night subway map.

Official maps from the MTA, updated and movable to the SD card. The app downloads each bus map the first time you open it. Each bus map weights around 2 MB, so I recommend downloading it through Wifi and waiting a couple of minutes.

If a map doesn't download after giving some time, try performing an "empty cache" through the applications menu in your operating system settings.

Users with Android versions prior to 2.1 might experience errors.

Popup ads were removed long ago, as a response to feedback. Double banners are a bug, please let me know if it persists after update. Send me your suggestions and I'll try to add/fix them.

Notes:

* If something isn't working right and you have the time to spare, could you please send an email as well as commenting. It greatly speeds up fixing things if we can ask for more detail on the problem than Market comments allow (although we do appreciate those too).

* If the app "goes missing" after a recent update, I'm informed that uninstalling+reinstalling it using "Settings>Applications>Manage Applications" should restore it.

* If you have a homescreen icon on an HTC Sense phone, the picture will not be updated until you reboot. However, it should function just as before without a reboot. We can't do anything about this issue as it appears to be an HTC bug.

* We are unable to use the new pre-caching or vector maps support as seen in the most recent Google Maps versions. These features are only available internally within the Google Maps application itself, and Google have made no way to use them from an external application. Therefore, we are stuck with the basic bitmap-based maps with no pre-caching until Google decide to support this. If they ever do, we would definitely want to use it.

Singapore Bus Guide allows Android users to look up bus route detail of SMRT and SBS WITHOUT having network connection.

Users can also bookmark their favourite buses and search for the routes between two locations (the search feature is powered by GoThere.sg and requires network connection)

The VBN app: All travel info at your fingertips - wherever, whenever

The new VBN app offers timetables for all buses and trams in Northern Saxony and Bremen. Train information is available for all of Germany. Information for the carriers BREMERHAVEN BUS, BSAG, DB Regio, evb, metronom, NordWestBahn, Weser-Ems-Bus and Wolters are available in real time. That means you can see if your train, bus or tram will be on time or delayed. You can also access information about connections, platforms, routes on foot or maps or routes.

Furthermore, you can access an overview of the stations and travel options in your immediate vicinity based on your current location. And last but not least, you can call up information about the various stations.

If you are ever lost and don�t know, where the closest station might be, simply use the augmented reality function and look around with your mobile phone.

The VBN app will keep you up to date - simply subscribe to the push service, and you will receive latest news about your daily connections. All information regarding your selected route will be messaged to you automatically, once you have configured your subscription service to your requirements.

Note:

The app will access your calendar so that you can select the calendar in which you wish to store your travel connections. The app will also access your contacts so that you will be able to select an address as starting point or destination for the connection search function. These access rights will not be needed for any other purpose. You can change these access rights at any time via the settings.

Should you decide to subscribe to the push service, an anonymous device ID will be stored on our server in order to allow us to send you the requested information.
