by geekyouup / geekyouup.com /
  • Current Version 1.6.9
  • Size 56K

Description

Graphical Battery Widget shows the exact battery level in 1x1 space, with shortcuts to Power-Summary/Display/Network/GPS/Wifi/BT Settings

Updated with new settings design, also added Network settings and 'Show Desktop' feature - shows your wallpaper/live-wallpaper in full screen.

Note: This doesn't open, it is a Widget not an app. Add on homescreen with Menu -> Add -> Widgets -> Battery Widget or Apps -> Widgets -> Battery Widget

Description Permissions Usage by @BruceProgrammer (thx):

For quick access to the controls for turning Wi-Fi on and off, this application requires device permissions to view Wi-Fi state, change Wi-Fi state, and "prevent device from sleeping". This application does not, however, do anything to prevent the device from sleeping.

In order to display whether the GPS receiver is on or off, for display purposes only, this application requires the additional device permission to access "fine (GPS) location". This application, however, does not actually ever access device location information.

Description

Get your Screen on! Screebl is an application that controls your screen based on orientation. Never have the screen turn off again while using your phone, and SAVE BATTERY too. It's possible with Screebl!

Screebl works based on a simple observation: we generally hold our phones or tablets in roughly the same positions when we're using them. Screebl uses the accelerometer in your mobile device to detect how you're holding your phone, and when your device is within a configurable range, the screen is kept on. Move out of that range, and Screebl releases the lock and the screen is allowed to go off. It sounds simple (and it is), but it works amazingly well!

How does Screebl save power? Well, it's simple. On most phones, the screen is the single largest consumer of battery power. With Screebl running you can reduce the average amount of time that your screen is on by only keeping it on when you're ACTUALLY using your phone. The amount of savings can vary significantly by device and usage patterns, but it is not uncommon for users to see savings of 20% or more. See our web site for more details.

PowerMax

by VoltUp / www.volt-up.com /
  • Current Version 1.6.8
  • Size 978K

Description

PowerMax extends the battery life of your mobile device. Simple to use: just push the button.

PowerMax is a mobile application that will help you extend the battery life of your mobile device. When you're on the go and notice that your mobile is about to die, or if you know it's going to be a long day until your next chance to charge, one touch activates PowerMax. PowerMax will save your battery and better manage power usage for you.

Katie of GigaOM writes about PowerMax: "Recently I discovered the single app that has smartly and simply solved many of these battery life problems for me: the PowerMax Android app made by Volt-Up ... PowerMax software is so simple, and suited to Android, it seems meant to be on the phone already."

PowerMax is one of the most friendly and simple to use applications available today. On the main screen there is an On/Off switch. By clicking switch on, the Power Saver will be activated and save your battery, and by clicking off, PowerMax will restore your normal settings. When Power Saver Mode is on, your phone's functionality will be significantly reduced. But don't worry, this is just to save you power, you can always use your mobile's features on demand (email, internet applications etc).

In testing we have seen a wide range of battery life improvement – from a mediocre 20% more to an impressive 100% – doubling battery life! Your device usage pattern has a direct affect on the savings – typically the more you use your device the higher the savings you will enjoy. Please note that our reports on the percent improvement in battery life will only start a few days after you install PowerMax. Why? Because PowerMax first learns what is your normal battery consumption, the baseline, and then calculates the improvement.

PowerMax can be downloaded for free then used for an evaluation period of one week. Once the evaluation period is over, PowerMax users who are not interested in purchasing a key can still continue using PowerMax in advertising supported mode. You can purchase a license key at any time to unlock the full functionality of the PowerMax.

** Please EMail us if you run into any problems! We can't help you if you post negative feedback here **

** Google play App Store has issues with paid downloads. Email us and we will help you. We can't respond to negative feedback placed on us for Google's problems... **

** PowerMax is SIMPLE. Compare it to Latedroid JuiceDefender or Green Power - so many confusing options to waste time learning about **

** PowerMax is CAPABLE. No other App can turn off GPS on recent Android devices. Compare it to One Touch battery saver **

Description

BatteryFu (pronounced Battery-Foo, like in Kung-Fu) extends battery life (and lowers data usage) by changing always-on mobile/wifi data to periodic sync (meaning it disables your mobile data and/or Wifi, then checks your accounts every X minutes). This also provides a way to manage your data usage.

BatteryFu is also great for tablet use to keep accounts sync'd even when the tablet is in sleep/standby. Normally accounts won't sync due to WiFi going to sleep (see "WiFi sleep policy").

There are lots of other battery savers on the market, but this one has been around since 2010, and has no ads or spyware (see permissions).

Features:

* Lean and fast (see download size!)

* Work for all networks (CDMA/GSM) from Gingerbread up

* Notification icon: lets you switch modes even while inside another app.

* Data while screen is on, with screen off delay

* Data while charger is plugged in

* Pre-defined modes: Travel mode, Online mode, Offline mode, Night mode, etc.

* BatteryMinder shows battery stats, like usage during screen off, kernel wakelocks, etc.

* 3rd party app support (using intents) so that you can control BatteryFu from your own app. Email me for details.

Note:

* Do not move to SD

* Do not task kill

* Disable before un-installing

* If your battery drains more than about 10% overnight with Night mode on, then something else is draining your battery. Uninstall some apps and/or reboot.

Tips for even better battery life:

* Select "2g networks only" in Android settings

* Turn off "Network notification" under Wifi settings

* Uninstall apps if your phone is running out of RAM (e.g. slow to get to homescreen or switch apps)

* If your battery life is out of control, reset phone to factory defaults, install BatteryFu and be amazed! Then slowly re-install some apps

* Do not put apps on SD card if they run in the background. SD card access drains battery.

* Some Samsung devices drain battery overnight after Maps/Navigation is used (even with GPS off). Turning off "Use wireless networks" under Location settings and rebooting seems to help. You will see this as a long "gps" wakelock in BatteryMinder.

See website for more information, if you have problems, or would like to donate. Email for support, I don't check comments.

Similar apps: JuiceDefender, GreenPower, ApnDroid, BetterBatteryStats, CPUSpy

Tested and works great on: HTC Dream (G1), HTC Hero, Huawei Ideos U8150, Archos Internet Tablet, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Samsung Galaxy S2, Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung Galaxy S3

Recent changes:

v1.43

- fixed bug in BatteryMinder stats output

v1.42 - many enhancements!

- New option: keep data while screen on. Prevents data disconnect while you browse.

- BatteryMinder (experimental) - displays battery stats like BetterBatteryStats and CPUSpy to help you find battery hogs

- New notification and list icons

- Holo theme for newer devices

- Easier to understand mode titles

- Ability to go online/offline at any time

Description

SystemPanel integrates a task manager, app manager (installer/uninstaller with multi-version APK archival), and system monitor.

Solve your battery life problem by enabling the background monitoring service to record long-term CPU usage by individual apps.

SystemPanel includes the following features:

Task Manager: The task manager shows what applications are currently loaded into memory and/or running on a device, including current CPU and memory utilization for each. The task manager provides the ability to kill offending applications, and includes an emergency "end all" widget to handle extreme scenarios.

System Monitor: The system monitor can be enabled to record device usage history over a period of time (up to one week), such that you can determine what applications and usage patterns have the greatest impact on battery life. This feature is commonly used to help track down which applications are having major negative effects on battery life. The system monitor records CPU usage for each process, overall CPU usage, display usage, battery level, and battery charging status.

Installer: The installer enables you to install and uninstall applications quickly and conveniently. It can archive multiple versions of applications, such that you can backup your apps before an update and revert back to older versions afterward. This is useful in the not uncommon event the updated item is buggy or otherwise undesirable. Additionally, the Installer is designed to work much more efficiently than the standard Android application manager, and does not suffer the frustrating lag issues found in the default Android item when browsing through a large number of installed apps.

Device Information: The device information screens show detailed information about your Android device, including storage, capabilities, network state, and OS build information.

-- Frequently Asked Questions --

Why does it require the ______ permission?

- SystemPanel does require a fair number of permissions in order to be able to perform all of its duties. This product DOES NOT send ANY information from your device over the Internet to ANYONE. It requires the "Internet access" and "telephony/read phone state" permissions only to monitor and display the device's network connectivity state. A full description of why each permission is required can be found in the SystemPanel FAQ on our web site.

Does SystemPanel consume battery?

- The only component of SystemPanel which runs in the background is the "System Monitor" feature. This feature must be enabled by the user (by default, SystemPanel runs nothing in the background). When enabled, the System Monitor feature will record data about which applications are consuming the battery every 15 minutes. All told, this feature will use approximately one minute of CPU / battery time per day of operation. When this feature is not enabled, SystemPanel will not run in the background in any capacity.

Does SystemPanel automatically kill tasks in the background?

- No, SystemPanel is not an automatic task killer. It has been well-established (by the Android documentation and direct communication with the Android engineers) that randomly or periodically terminating arbitrary tasks in the interest of saving memory will NOT yield a benefit in performance or battery life. The only benefit you will see from an automatic task killer is if it happens to terminate misbehaving apps. SystemPanel provides a better solution to this problem by showing you which apps are consuming CPU in the background (over time) with the "System Monitor" feature. It is then recommended that such applications be reconfigured or uninstalled (or perhaps corrected by filing a bug with the offending application's author).

A much more extensive FAQ is available on our web site.

Please visit our web site at http://android.nextapp.com for more information, including a complete screenshot tour of the product.
